    Summary: A revenue neutral bond that enables energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy generation in State Buildings that pays for itself through energy savings.

  • Advanced Energy Technologies Economic Development Act

    Summary: Initially intended to provide a $1.5 million allocation (reduced to $.5 million in the Session) to the Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department for a renewable energy, energy efficiency, and alternative fuels grants program to local governments, state universities, community colleges, tribal entities, and non-profit organizations. Also intended to provide a $.5 million allocation (reduced to $.2 million in the session) to the Economic Development Department to establish a hydrogen and fuel cell technologies development program. Note that the final allocations ($.5 million and $.2 million respectively), where not provided directly in H 251 (those allocations were stripped from the bill), but the monies where allocated instead in the State's Capital Outlay Bill, HB 2.

  • Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program

    Status: Proposed by Governor.

    Summary: This program would appropriate $6 million for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects by the state of New Mexico. Final details are not yet known, but this program was mentioned in the Governor's State of the State Address, and is expected to appear soon.

  • Wind Energy Generation Gross Receipts Exemption

  • Energy Efficient Green Building Legislative Memorial:

    Status: Was never introduced - maybe next year!

    Summary: Highlights the benefits of energy efficient green building and directs state agencies to promote green building throughout state facilities and the residential and commercial building sectors

  • Solar Energy Task Force

    The Governor has announced in his State of the State Address the formation of Solar Energy Task Force to explore a commercial scale solar power project (probably a "Concentrating Solar Power" project).
